Challenges

Meeting and overcoming challenges is a large part of our existence, and stress is a part of life.

Believe it or not, stress in short doses is actually good for you. It produces adrenaline and improves performance. But too much stress is damaging; if it continues without relief it can lead to the negative stress reaction called “distress”. And distress can lead to physical symptoms including headaches, upset stomach, elevated blood pressure, chest pain, and problems sleeping. It may become extremely difficult to settle down, revise, perform and be at your best. Stress also is harmful when people use alcohol, tobacco or drugs to try to relieve their stress. Instead of relieving the stress, and returning the body to a relaxed state, these substances tend to keep the body in this agitated condition and cause even more problems.

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic method that bypasses the limiting beliefs of the conscious mind so challenges can be met with equanimity. Hypnotherapy can:

eliminate anxiety, nerves and panic
accelerate learning
improve coping strategies
address and remove sources of tension
learn how to remain calm and actually ENJOY challenges like public speaking, exams, etc.

Limiting beliefs affect our confidence, attitudes, behaviours and performance. They interfere with our own natural excellence. Hypnotic training is now widely utilised by Olympic and professional athletes. Self-hypnosis and NLP techniques can be easily learned and used to remove inner and outer barriers to performance, improve focus and concentration and restore enjoyment of your sport.
